Congratulations to our April 2019 Volunteer of the Month: Kim Tocchio!
Starting in July of 2017, Kim has been volunteering for the Marine Mammals Department for almost two years donating over 600 hours of her time! Kim is vital in food preparation, scrubbing and disinfection, and helping in the care of our wonderful marine mammals. Kim is able to answer any questions that her coworkers have, serving as an excellent volunteer team member to the aquarium. Her supervisors and coworkers can always rely on her to take on whatever task with a happy, positive outlook. If you happen to visit the aquarium on a Saturday, make sure you look out for Kim and ask her a few questions. Here is what Terra Wilson, Kim’s supervisor, has to say about why Kim truly deserved volunteer of the month:
“Leading Saturdays! She always goes the extra mile in all aspects of her day. She is constantly ahead of the game and it’s a good bet she’s already done something I’m about to ask her to do. Her strong leadership skills and positive attitude set the tone for Saturdays- for volunteers, interns and staff!”
Congratulations again to Kim Tocchio on her stellar service and commitment to our mission of “protecting the blue planet.”
If Kim’s story has inspired you to serve and you’d like to volunteer with us at the New England Aquarium please visit http://serve.neaq.org/ for more details.
