Congratulations to our September 2018 Volunteer of the Month: Eleanor Davison!
Since November of 1991, Eleanor has been a pleasure to have at the New England Aquarium. She serves as a Visitor Education volunteer so if you have found yourself at the Aquarium on a Saturday you’re likely to have enjoyed her friendly, engaging presence. Her flexibility makes her someone everyone can count on. She is always willing to go above and beyond and help out all of the other volunteers, staff, and interns. She embodies the mission of the Aquarium and we are proud to have her as a representative. She is always happy to share all she knows to help others find their passion for the blue planet so if you see Eleanor make sure to ask her all of your questions! Her enthusiasm is sure to be contagious!
Eleanor’s supervisor, Guenaelle Maria, has the following to add about her many years working with her:
“Saturdays wouldn’t be the same without Eleanor! I’ve had the pleasure of working with her 9 out of her 25+ years of volunteering at the Aquarium and I can say without hesitation that she has been a true champion; she seamlessly provides top-rate GOT talks and live animal presentations, has been an excellent mentor and friend to countless teen interns, volunteers and staff over the years, and is always willing to lend a hand when I’ve been short-staffed. I’ve personally learned a lot from Eleanor on how to be a better educator and floor manager so I wanted to take this opportunity to thank her.”
Congratulations once again to Eleanor Davison on her stellar service and commitment to our mission of “protecting the blue planet.”
