Volunteer of the Month: Dana White

Congratulations to our April 2018 Volunteer of the Month: Dana White!

During April we are especially cognizant of our volunteers as we celebrate National Volunteer Appreciation Week! Being able to effortlessly move from conversation to conversation, addressing the needs of hundreds of visitors each day is no small task. Each person has different expectations and needs and meeting those desires is the first step towards opening a dialogue about our educational mission. Fostering a sense of stewardship into our guests is of critical importance and few know that better than Dana White. Here’s what her supervisor, Matt, had to say about her:

“Dana is an exceptional volunteer because of her upbeat attitude, flexibility with her schedule, and awesome interpretation style when interacting with visitors on the floor. She is extremely well-liked by both her volunteer co-workers and staff and she has quickly become a fixture of Sunday afternoons at the aquarium. I am looking forward to seeing how her aquarium learning progresses in the coming months!”

Congratulations once again to Dana White on her stellar service and commitment to our mission of “protecting the blue planet.”

If Dana’s story has inspired you to serve and you’d like to volunteer with us at the New England Aquarium please visit http://serve.neaq.org/ for more details.
