Congratulations to our October 2017 Volunteer of the Month: Kathy Cartier!
October is a special month for our volunteers. Every year we hold our annual appreciation gala to celebrate all of our active volunteers and highlight their service and commitment to the New England Aquarium. We highlight volunteer’s lifetime hours served, the number of years they’ve been active, and the number of volunteer positions they’ve held, etc. This year our October Volunteer of the Month, Kathy Cartier, has over a thousand hours of service logged to date! Kathy’s interactions help to enrich and uplift the visitors and her fellow volunteer’s aquarium experience. Here is what her supervisor Meghan Elizabeth-Foster has to say about her:
“My team wouldn’t be the same without Kathy Cartier. She started volunteering in November 2011 and has been here ever since. It hasn’t mattered if her work schedule changed or what was happening outside of her Aquarium life Kathy has always made a point of being here to volunteer. Kathy is one of those people you want to be around and is such a fun person to teach. She is always interested in learning more and doing everything the best she can. Not only do I and the rest of our volunteers like working with her but she is great with our visitors.”
Congratulations once again to Kathy Cartier on her stellar service and commitment to our mission of “protecting the blue planet.”
